Stressful times and Good Friends

I went and saw the movie The secret lives of pets, today.  Parts of it had me laughing like crazy.  Spending time with a couple of friends while there just added to the fun.  I saw the personalities of some of my pets both past and present in this movie.  It brought up some great memories.
Doing something like this just makes all the stress slide to the back.  I was able to relax, laugh and totally forget about any and all of the stresses in my life.  It is so important to find things like this that you can do to counter those stressful times.  For me it is a breath of fresh air that is so needed and welcomed.
Yesterday, I also had the same sort of experience.  I was able to spend time with Miss Jenn.  We did some spanking, made a few videos, got caught up on what has been going on in our lives and laughed and laughed.  It is awesome to have someone in your life that you can totally be yourself with.  I am blessed to have many friends like that.  Time spent with them is very precious.
Miss Jenn is also my disciplinarian and Momma Jenn in ageplay.  When she points and says, *take your jeans off*, there is no hesitation.  We are good friends and have a many faceted relationship.  There is never a dull moment for sure.  It is easy for me to go from being her submissive to being her friend.  There is an easy flow between us that we each nurture.
Mickey is my Dominant and my life partner.  With her, I can be myself, the good, bad and the ugly.  She accepts where I am, encourages me, and loves me through it all.  I do the same for her.  She is my best friend!  This relationship didn't just appear, we have worked hard at it over the years and it has been worth every giggle and tear.
Friendship doesn't just happen.  Like so many things, it must be worked at, fed and nurtured.  Having a close friend or two is worth the time and effort.  The blessings and joy it brings is something that money could never buy.  Being able to turn to a friend during stressful times is a great gift.  I encourage you to nurture your friendships.  I don't think you will be disappointed.

Knowing Me

Here online it is far too easy to think that you know someone because you follow them, read their blog, see them in a video, etc.  Knowing a person is something that takes time.  It takes developing a relationship and applying a commitment to that process.  Never will we truly know another completely.  My partner surprises me often with new things about herself.
If you want to know someone, take the time to develop a mutual friendship with that person.  Knowing another means that both people actually want to know one another.  Crazy thing about being online is it can lead to one person believing they have a relationship with someone else online who actually doesn't even know they exist.  Knowing a name, knowing their work, in no way means that you know that person.
Keep it real!  Develop real relationships with one another.  It is a beautiful dance done together, slowly and hopefully gracefully.

Unconventional Paths

It seems that sometimes the path that I take is unconventional.  Others have found the choices that I make for myself, a little strange.  With most things that I choose for myself, I have stopped caring about the opinions of others outside of my inner circle.  I have enough confidence to believe in myself.  For the most part, I trust my intuition.
I have tried the conventional.  I spent about 3 years in therapy, discovering truths about myself and healing from my past.  Over the past year and a half or so, the past came up again.  So much about it seemed more intense.  I did not want to go see a therapist.  I know that talk therapy can work.  It did for me during a time when I really needed it.  This time though, I really struggled with what could I learn from therapy, how could it help me?  I did seek out a therapist and have a great relationship with her.
I also knew that it wasn't enough.  I needed something more.  I knew what I needed but I had no idea how to seek it out.  It all seemed like it was a dream that would never be a reality.  I felt stuck.  I felt like I would never be *okay*.  Heck, I felt strange for even wanting this, even when I knew deep down inside that it was exactly what I needed.  I did not know that something like therapeutic spanking existed.  I had no knowledge that Pro Disciplinarians existed.  What I was describing was a type of spanking therapy, I guess.  I was spanked in my personal life and had no reason to search the internet.  Needing someone who could interact with me coming from a more maternal side, set me on a very unconventional path.
This is how I ended up with Miss Jenn.  The time we have spent together and the sessions we have had, are changing my life.  Just like with Mickey, Jenn interacts with both the adult and child me. It isn't strange or weird.  At times, it is very intense and emotional.  At times, it is all laughter.  At times, it is just easy and comfortable.  All the time, it is helping.  It may be an unconventional path.  It is also my path and it is working for me.

Submission

Like a Prayer... a song by Madonna.  I have been listening to it tonight.  It has always spoken to me of a D/s relationship.
Life is a mystery.  Everyone must stand alone.  I hear You call my name and it feels like home.  When you call my name it's like a little prayer, I'm down on my knees, I want to take you there.  In the midnight hour I can feel your power, just like a prayer. You know I'll take you there.  Just like a prayer, your voice can take me there.
As a submissive, it is how I feel.
Sometimes, I see things differently.  This song speaks to me of both sides in a D/s relationship.  It touches the need in me to submit.  *I hear You call my name and it feels like home*  There is a tug inside me that wants to respond.  I want to be of service.  I want to help.  At the same time, it is a very protected place.  Submission is never demanded of me, it is a gift given.  For those that might not know, a submissive is in no way a doormat.  A submissive gives and serves from a place of strength.  There is so much garbage out there about what a D/s relationship is.  Submissives portrayed as weak, worthless, ignorant... Why would one person decide to serve another?  Why would someone decide to submit to someone else?  That person has to be weak-willed or crazy.  SO NOT TRUE!
Mickey has been my Dominant almost from day one.  Wanna know how it began?  It began with Her absolutely treasuring me.  She showered me with care and concern.  She did nothing without my complete understanding and permission.  She built trust and demanded communication.  She never ever demanded respect.  She showed me what respect was by respecting me.  She showed me what love is by loving me.  Not all D/s relationships have or need to have the component of love or sexual intimacy.  In my experience, love has grown with respect in the two strong D/s relationships I have had and in every D/s couple I personally know of.  Some of the couples only ever came together in a dungeon setting and still a love for one another grew and was visible to outsiders.
Mickey was not my first *Mistress* or Dominant. (I am sure She is shaking her head reading this, because Mistress is not how she describes herself anymore)  I was introduced to BDSM by a friend that I didn't know was a Pro Dominatrix.  We got around to the subject of spanking which was all I knew and dreamed of.  Boy, was I in for a surprise.  Stefany, showed me things and made me feel things that I could not have ever even dreamed of.  It was new ground for her as well.  She had never played with a girl before.  She had never had a girl and didn't know that she might want one until she met me and got to know me.  She helped me find the submissive in me and she helped bring it out.  I wanted to submit to her.  With her as well, it began with being treasured.  Absolutely everything was consensual.  I was like a kid in a candy store and I wanted to try everything!  I was held back.  Reins put on me that still make me laugh as I think about it.  I was trying to run forward into everything and to experience as much as possible.  Being told to wait or that I wasn't ready yet, frustrated me.  But, I learned to trust.  I learned to communicate.  I learned the right way to do things.  I am not just talking about the right way to serve a cup of coffee, although I did that.  I was taught how to keep myself safe.  I was taught where pain could be applied and where it should never be.  I was taught the why behind things.  I was taught about safe words.  I was taught about negotiation, soft and hard limits. I received so much education along with experiences.  My training and learning still continues with Mickey.
For me a D/s relationship is so much more intimate and so much closer than any other type of relationship I have ever experienced.  Maybe because there has to be so much communication and trust.  We have a D/s relationship and we are life partners.  We are best friends and lovers.  In the early years I use to joke with her that she needed to switch hats for a minute because I wanted to talk to my Mistress or my Lover.  I can't imagine living my life without also having the opportunity to express my submission.  I have played with, scened with,  other Dominants and for that period of time, I gift them my submission.  That is far different from living it.  I am a submissive.  I am a strong willful mature and intelligent woman as well.  I have been very dominant out in the world, with a successful career and that doesn't make me any less of a submissive.  I can proudly say that I am a submissive.  Better yet, I am Mickey's submissive!
